P'Nut松鼠主人起诉纽约州索赔1000万美元，因突袭与灭杀事件
BlockBeats 消息，8 月 12 日，在收到一份匿名投诉后，纽约州环境保护厅对 Mark Luongo 的住宅进行了长达五个小时的突击搜查，并扣押了网络红星——松鼠 Peanut（昵称「P'Nut」）及其搭档——浣熊 Fred。州政府随后以「检测狂犬病」为由，将两只动物实施安乐死。
DEC 官员声称，在突袭过程中，「P'Nut」咬穿了一名执法人员佩戴的厚皮手套，因此必须对松鼠和浣熊实施灭杀，并进行狂犬病检测。但州政府后来承认，两只动物的检测结果均为阴性，且从未道歉，也未归还宠物遗体。根据法庭文件，「P'Nut」和 Fred 的死亡「并非出于对狂犬病的担忧」，而是「一种毫无意义的暴力行为」和「对政府滥用权力的骇人展示」。
该项诉讼是在今年 6 月 27 日 Longo 与 Bittner 已经在纽约州谢芒县高等法院对埃尔迈拉市及州、市各级 36 名官员提起诉讼的基础上追加的，并要求通过陪审团审理索取未具体说明的赔偿金额。这对夫妇表示，自失去明星松鼠以来，他们遭受了情感创伤和经济损失。据诉状称，「P'Nut」曾频繁出现在社交媒体上（甚至包括 OnlyFans）。
