英国议员法拉奇因未申报 Tether 投资者 500 万英镑礼物遭议会调查
深潮 TechFlow 消息，5 月 14 日，据 Decrypt 报道，英国 Reform UK 党领袖奈杰尔·法拉奇（Nigel Farage）正面临议会标准专员的正式调查，原因是其未申报来自 Tether 投资者克里斯托弗·哈伯恩（Christopher Harborne）的 500 万英镑（约 670 万美元）个人礼物。
哈伯恩持有稳定币巨头 Tether 12%的股份，是 Reform UK 党的最大金主，去年单笔捐款 900 万英镑创英国史上在世个人政治捐款最高纪录。法拉奇称该礼物用于保障个人安全，并坚称赠予发生在其宣布参选之前，无申报义务。若被认定违反议会行为准则，法拉奇将面临书面道歉乃至暂停或开除议员资格等处罚。
